Your tour of Delhi will take you through the old and new face of the capital of India. Old Delhi-Old Delhi is the 300-year-old walled city built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jehan in 1648 as his capital. Drive past the Red Fort from where the Prime Minister of India addresses the nation on India’s Independence Day. Visit Jama Masjid, the most elegant mosque in India that stands high on a hillock. On our way back, we visit Raj Ghat, Mahatama Gandhi’s shrine. New Delhi- New Delhi is the early 20th century British capital designed by Sir Edward Lutyens and Herbert Baker. Drive past the President’s House, the Rashtrapati Bhavan and India Gate, the great memorial arch built to commemorate the slain heroes of World War-I and Indo-Afghan War. Visit the precursor to the Taj Mahal, Humayun’s Tomb built in 1565 AD by the widow of the second Mughal emperor Haji Begum. Overnight stay

Today morning transfer to Delhi railways station to board the train for Chandigarh. Delhi-Chandigarh Kalka Shatabdi (12001) 0740-1105 hrs. On arrival at Chandigarh railway station met and travel by surface from Chandigarh to Ananadpur Sahib (02 Hrs.drive) On arrival check in to your hotel. Rest of the day free to explore. 17 Mar'2014 In Anandpur Sahib- Hola Mohalla festival
After breakfast visit Ananadpur Sahib Gurudwara to enjoy Hola Mohalla festival. We spend the remains of day 2 and day 3 at the Holla Mohalla Festival, where we’ll witness all the colourful festivities which include dramatic mock martial arts battles (known as Gatka), impressive displays of weaponry, archery and wrestling. There's also music, poetry and prayers, singing and chanting, while food is served to pilgrims from all castes and creeds by women from the neighbouring villages, who set up langars (community kitchens). This is impressive and humbling to watch as regardless of caste, all Sikh's sit together. There are also exciting horse riding displays from the Nahib Sikh Army where the riders gallop bareback, performing tricks like riding astride two horses. One of the main attractions at the festival are the Nihangs - a prestigious armed Sikh order who wear a striking blend of blue and orange, with twisted moustaches and staggeringly giant embellished turbans. Morning sightseeing of Amritsar visit The Golden Temple- also known as Hari Madir, is the most important shrine of the Sikhs. The glittering domes of the temple covered with pure gold leaf are reflected in the pool in front of the temple. Later visit Jalliawala Bagh- where the British massacred around 2000 Indians attending a meeting in the year 1919. Today a stone memorial stands in silent remembrance Later afternoon excursion to Wagah Border. Located on the Indo-Pakistan border, Wagah is 28 kilometers from the Amritsar main town. A good number of visitors come to this place to see the Change of Guards ceremony which is executed with great skill and precision by the border security forces of both the countries. Overnight stay

Hola Mohalla is a well-known Sikh festival which is celebrated annually in the state of Punjab. The festival takes place on the first of the lunar month of Chet season.
